A 25-year-old man was apprehended on Saturday for allegedly issuing a death threat to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. The suspect, identified as Shlok Tripathi, was arrested by Delhi Police and is currently being interrogated at the Special Cell office in northwest Delhi.

According to police sources, Tripathi is described as a “fraudster” who frequently changes his identity. The investigation revealed that he had previously been involved in similar threatening behavior targeting other public figures. Authorities are now working to establish his motives and determine whether he was acting alone or as part of a larger scheme.

The threat against Chief Minister Gupta comes amid heightened security concerns for public officials in the national capital. While details about the nature and medium of the threat have not been fully disclosed, officials have confirmed that it was serious enough to warrant immediate action by the Special Cell, which handles sensitive and high-profile cases.

The Delhi Police have increased security arrangements around the Chief Minister’s residence and office as a precautionary measure. Senior police officials have stated that they are conducting a thorough investigation into the suspect’s background, online activities, and potential connections to ensure there are no additional security concerns.

Chief Minister Gupta has continued with her scheduled public appearances and duties while the investigation proceeds.
