Reinforcing its status and securing its dominance as India’s premier destination for all things pop culture – celebrating the finest of comics, anime, manga, gaming, and superhero lovers, Chennai Comic Con 2025 delivered a spectacular experience that left visitors in awe.
The 2nd edition of the fest drew thousands of passionate fans and leaving an indelible mark on their hearts on February 8 and 9 2025, at the Chennai Trade Center (CTC), Nandambakkam.
Organized by Comic Con India, under the aegis of NODWIN Gaming, this two-day extravaganza, set the stage for a weekend brimming with an expansive array of activities, performances, and immersive experiences. The event witnessed an overwhelming response, with over 39,000+ visitors attending over the weekend and 4500 Cosplayer registrations showcasing their exceptional artistry and dedication. From anime favorites like Madara, Zoro, Chainsaw Man, Agatski and Gojo to nostalgic classics such as Wolverine, Joker, Batman, and the many variations of Spiderman, alongside beloved characters Moana, Power Rangers, Jinx and Mel from Arcane, among others the convention was a dazzling display of cosplay.

This year’s edition elevated the convention with innovative experiential zones by marquee brands like Maruti Suzuki, Crunchyroll, Yamaha, along with Marvel Studios’ Captain America: Brave New World, DC Studios’ Superman, Universal Pictures’ Jurassic World Rebirth and DreamWorks Animation’s How To Train Your Dragon offering fans an unparalleled opportunity to engage with their favored brands. The attendees experienced immersive gaming zones by Nodwin Gaming Arena such as the Valorant zone by Riot Games India, a PlayStation zone, Skull and Bones experience booth and more.
One of the major highlights of the event was the presence of renowned international creators, including #1 New York Times best-selling comic book author and award-winning filmmaker Kyle Higgins, Brazilian artist Eduardo Ferigato, comic artist and colorist of the Radiant Black comic book Marcelo Costa, and celebrated illustrator and graphic designer Kelly McMahon. Their insightful panels and exclusive meet-and-greet sessions transformed this year’s edition into an unmissable experience for every comic aficionado. Adding to the excitement, an outstanding list of Indian illustrators and creators, including Akshara Ashok, Rajesh Nagulakonda, Holy Cow Entertainment, Bullseye Press, Indusverse, Bakarmaxx, Art of SAVIO, Corporat, Prasad Bhat, Saumin Patel, Art of Roshan, Yali Dream Creations, Urban Tales among others, infusing their creative brilliance to the festival.

The live performances amplified the event’s allure even more, featuring a stellar lineup of comedians, musicians, and creators who kept the crowds thoroughly entertained with their dynamic acts. Fans grooved to the infectious beats of Desible, while laughter echoed through the walls as stand-up icons Rohan Joshi, Sahil Shah, The Internet Said So (featuring Varun Thakur, Kautuk Srivastav, and Aadar Malik), took center stage with their signature wit. Local fan-favorites Vivek Muralidharan, Hysterical Comedy Collaborative, audiences in splits! The excitement soared further when talented Chennai based artists like Kannan CARICATURIST, Pilot Gomma, and B-Boy Crazy Bright wowed the crowd.

Adding to the Otakus observation, Chennai based comedian Vikram Atul Vidyapati said, “It was quite surprising to see so many here that follow Anime and Manga! I assumed that Marvel and DC would be everywhere, but I’m so glad to see so many Anime loving audiences too, I didn’t know that it was so popular. This reminded me of my childhood and I could relive through it all over again. I was very happy seeing the enthusiasm here at Chennai Comic Con”

As Chennai Comic Con 2025 wraps up, fans across India are already anticipating the next stops on the Comic Con India calendar, with the first ever edition of Kolkata Comic Con scheduled for February 22nd & 23rd, 2025.
